Introduction

Dr. Anil Kumar Anand brings with him over 31 years of extensive experience in the field of Radiation Oncology. He completed his MBBS from Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, followed by an MD in Radiotherapy and Oncology from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.

Dr. Anand has received advanced training in radiation therapy at the New York Hospital Medical Centre of Queens and further specialized in the radiotherapy of head and neck cancers at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London.

Before joining Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram, he served as Principal Director – Radiation Oncology at Max Hospital, Saket (2009 onwards). He has also held prominent positions at institutions such as Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre, New Delhi, and PGIMER Chandigarh.

Dr. Anand has authored numerous scientific publications, with recent contributions focusing on Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) in recurrent head and neck cancers. He is a respected member of the Indian Society of Oncology, American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI).

He also serves as an Advisor to scientific bodies such as the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRO), World Health Organization (WHO), and other United Nations organisations. Additionally, Dr. Anand is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics.
