Introduction

Dr. Biswajyoti Hazarika is a highly accomplished Head & Neck Surgical Oncologist with over 25 years of overall medical experience, including more than 20 years of specialized practice in Head & Neck Oncology. His clinical expertise encompasses surgical management of tumors and cancers affecting the oral cavity, nose and paranasal sinuses, larynx, pharynx, salivary glands, thyroid, and parathyroid glands.

Dr. Hazarika is well-versed in plastic reconstruction of resected areas and is proficient in endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted head and neck surgery, which is the latest advancement in his surgical portfolio.

In addition to his surgical skills, Dr. Hazarika has a strong focus on the functional rehabilitation of patients, aiming to restore quality of life post-cancer treatment.

He completed his fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery from the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, and pursued his residency at Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Centre, Guwahati. He further enhanced his expertise while working under the mentorship of Dr. Sultan A. Pradhan at Prince Aly Khan Hospital, Mumbai—an experience that gave him deep insights into the full spectrum of Head & Neck Oncology.

In 2009, Dr. Hazarika joined the Department of Surgical Oncology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi as a Consultant. In 2013, he was appointed Head of the Department – Head & Neck Surgery, a position he held until August 2016.

A passionate academician, Dr. Hazarika has contributed to several national and international medical journals and authored chapters in the Atlas of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.
