Introduction

Dr. Hemant Sharma is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon with over 26 years of experience—11 years in India and 11 years in England. He qualified MBBS from PGIMS Rohtak in 1994 and completed advanced trauma and orthopaedic fellowships in the UK, earning his FRCS (England), MRCS (England), and DNB (Orthopaedics). A certified Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Dr. Sharma remains an active participant and faculty member at both national and international conferences. Currently, he serves as Chairman – Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement & Spine Surgery at Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurugram, where he has helped establish the centre as a hub of excellence for robotic orthopaedic surgery and sports injury treatment. His clinical expertise spans complex trauma surgery, revision trauma and arthroplasty, and elective joint replacements. Dr. Sharma also has a focused interest in young adult hip preservation, developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), sickle cell–related orthopaedic issues, knee joint preservation, and hip and knee sports injuries—areas in which his contributions have earned him wide recognition and respect.
