Introduction

Dr. Hitesh Garg is the Head of the Ortho-Spine Surgery Unit at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, India. With over 15 years of extensive experience in spine surgery, Dr. Garg has trained and worked at premier institutions globally, including Yale University (USA) and Shriners Hospital for Children, Philadelphia (USA). He completed his MBBS from AIIMS, New Delhi, India’s top medical college, followed by his postgraduate training at the prestigious KEM Hospital, Mumbai.

Despite being offered a faculty position in the USA, Dr. Garg chose to return to India with a vision to establish a world-class advanced spine center in the country. He has a strong academic background, having published extensively in national and international journals and contributed chapters to renowned textbooks on spine surgery.


Dr. Garg has performed over 5,000 spine surgeries, including:

  • More than 2,500 spinal fusions (such as TLIF, ACDF)
  • Around 1,000 deformity correction procedures for scoliosis and kyphosis
  • Approximately 300 lumbar and cervical artificial disc replacements
  • 500 fracture treatments
  • Over 500 complex surgeries, including spinal tumors, congenital defects, and spino-pelvic fixations


He employs state-of-the-art surgical technologies such as neuromonitoring, O-arm imaging, navigation systems, modular operation theaters, and microscopes, contributing to a high surgical success rate of nearly 98%.

Dr. Garg has treated patients from over 50 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and India. His patient portfolio includes prominent national and international figures such as army officers, ministers, celebrities, elite sportspersons, renowned doctors, and business leaders.

His special interests include minimally invasive spine surgeries, motion-preserving spine surgeries, cranio-vertebral and cervical spine surgeries, and deformity corrections for scoliosis and kyphosis.
