Dr. K.R. Vasudevan is a highly accomplished liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon with experience in over 1,500 complex surgeries, including liver transplantation and oncological surgeries involving the liver, bile duct, pancreas, and abdominal organs.
He currently serves as the Director of the Liver Transplant Department at Jaypee Hospital, Noida, where he leads a highly specialised team focused on delivering advanced surgical care.
In addition to his role at Jaypee Hospital, Dr. Vasudevan offers outpatient consultations at multiple centres, including Aarogya Hospital (Delhi), Pratha Hospital (Kanpur), and facilities in Gorakhpur, ensuring wider accessibility to his expertise.
A visionary in the field of liver transplantation, he has successfully established live donor liver transplant units from the ground up in both India and abroad, contributing significantly to the expansion of quality transplant services. His strategic leadership and clinical insights have helped shape centres of excellence in liver care.
Dedicated to mentoring, he has trained numerous young surgeons who have gone on to lead liver transplant programs across various institutions.
Dr. Vasudevan’s areas of special interest include laparoscopic donor surgery, adult and paediatric liver transplantation, management of acute liver failure, and promotion of cadaveric organ donation.
He brings extensive expertise in both open and laparoscopic surgeries for benign and malignant conditions of the liver, gallbladder, bile duct, pancreas, and broader gastrointestinal tract, making him one of the most versatile and skilled surgeons in his field.
