Dr. Sumit Singh, a topper from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and recipient of the prestigious B.L. Soni Gold Medal, joined AIIMS as faculty in 2000. In 2002, he established India's first government-sector Headache Clinic at AIIMS. A renowned expert in headache disorders, he co-authored the headache management guidelines for the Indian subcontinent and pioneered the use of Botulinum toxin in India for headache and trigeminal neuralgia.
Dr. Singh is also a distinguished specialist in Parkinson’s disease and has extensive experience in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery planning and programming. His primary focus lies in movement disorders, and he is among the few experts in India proficient in Botox injections for conditions such as writer’s cramp, spasmodic torticollis, dystonias, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, and spasticity.
He has conducted significant research in Myasthenia Gravis and Multiple Sclerosis, contributing to the modification of plasma exchange protocols for these conditions. Dr. Singh served as Additional Director of Neurology at Medanta – The Medicity from 2009 to 2016, leading both the Movement Disorders and Headache Programs. He has an impressive academic portfolio with 104 peer-reviewed journal publications and 14 book chapters to his credit.
