Introduction

Padma Bhushan Dr. Kler is a pioneering figure in the field of Cardiology with an illustrious career spanning over 37 years. He has performed more than 35,000 coronary, renal, carotid, and peripheral angioplasties, establishing himself as one of the most experienced interventional cardiologists in the region.

A trailblazer in electrophysiology, Dr. Kler founded the first electrophysiology department in India at a leading hospital in Delhi. He was the first physician in the country to implant ICD, CRT-P, and CRT-D devices, and in 2015, he performed India’s first His Bundle Pacing procedure. He has been instrumental in initiating RF ablation and Cardiac Device Implantation programs across prominent centers in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.

Dr. Kler is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), UK and the American College of Cardiology. He also holds honorary professorships in Cardiology at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and O.P. Jindal University, Sonipat. Throughout his career, he has trained over 300 doctors from India and abroad in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. Additionally, he serves as a scientific advisor to several multinational companies based in the USA.

An accomplished academician, Dr. Kler has authored approximately 150 articles published in national and international journals. He is a sought-after speaker, regularly presenting at esteemed conferences such as HRS and ACC, and frequently invited as guest faculty in countries including the USA, France, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Pakistan.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to medicine, Dr. Kler was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2005. He has also received a D.Sc. (Honoris Causa) from Punjab University, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Medical Association, the Times Healthcare Achievers Award: Legend of Medicine, and the Delhi Medical Association Centenary Award, among numerous other accolades.
